At seventeen he began to photograph — a Yashica FX3 was the first camera — and set up his own black-and-white darkroom at home. Photography was never a hobby: from the beginning it was a way of understanding the world.
En 1998 comenzó su carrera como fotoperiodista para el diario La Opinión de Murcia, cubriendo eventos locales y regionales durante años. Ese trabajo de campo — la prisa, la luz difícil, el momento que no se repite — forjó una mirada que todavía define la forma en que ZONA Fotografía trabaja hoy. In 1998 he began his career as a photojournalist for the newspaper La Opinión de Murcia, covering local and regional events for years. That fieldwork — the rush, the difficult light, the unrepeatable moment — shaped a way of seeing that still defines how ZONA Fotografía works today.
Antes de abrir la tienda, trabajó durante años como técnico informático en dos empresas de la comarca — Microplus y Neox PC —, lo que explica por qué en 2006 el negocio se llamó ZONA Informática y Fotografía: dos oficios bajo el mismo techo, atendidos con el mismo rigor. Con el paso de los años, la demanda fue cambiando. La llegada de los smartphones transformó lo que los clientes necesitaban de una tienda fotográfica. En 2016, el nombre pasó a ser ZONA Fotografía: no fue una ruptura sino el reconocimiento de algo que ya era evidente desde el principio. El mismo comercio, la misma dirección, una sola identidad. Hoy ZONA Fotografía es una tienda de fotografía en sentido completo: impresión profesional en papel, fotos para documentos, restauración de imágenes antiguas, laboratorio de revelado en blanco y negro, estudio de retrato y sesiones artísticas en película de formato medio. Todo bajo el mismo techo, con las mismas manos. Today ZONA Fotografía is a photography shop in the full sense: professional paper printing, ID photos, restoration of old images, black-and-white darkroom, portrait studio and artistic sessions on medium format film. Fuera de la tienda, desde hace unos años compagina su actividad en ZONA Fotografía con el fotoperiodismo en eventos oficiales para el Ayuntamiento de Alhama de Murcia y como operador de cámara para Avatel Televisión — Tele Alhama. La cámara, en cualquier formato y en cualquier contexto. Se abre la tienda en la Calle Virgen del Rosario combinando asistencia informática y fotografía profesional bajo el mismo techo. The shop opens on Calle Virgen del Rosario combining IT support and professional photography under the same roof.
Comienzo de las clases particulares de fotografía digital, que han acompañado a la tienda desde entonces. Private digital photography classes begin, a service that has been part of the shop ever since.
Con los smartphones cambiando el mercado, la tienda actualiza su nombre para reflejar lo que siempre había sido su núcleo. Ese mismo año, se convierte en el primer laboratorio DryLab del Bajo Guadalentín, apostando por la impresión en papel fotográfico profesional. With smartphones reshaping the market, the shop updates its name to reflect what had always been its core. That same year it becomes the first DryLab photographic laboratory in the Bajo Guadalentín region, investing in professional photographic paper printing.
Se inaugura el primer estudio fotográfico, pensado para sesiones en película de formato medio sin flash. Un espacio para trabajar sin prisa. The first photography studio opens, designed for medium format film sessions without flash. A space to work without rush.
Se suma un segundo estudio para fotografía digital de retrato: familias, comuniones, niños y sesiones de temporada. A second studio for digital portrait photography is added: families, communions, children and seasonal sessions.
